INDIA HIGHLIGHTS 2007/2008

The pictures depict a trip of a life time. Accomplished with 5 family members/travelling companions. This all happened between December 28, 2007 and February 3, 2008. Words cannot describe the experience, therefore I hope the pictures will do the job, in part anyways. The 20 pictures selected out of more than 1000 are just a sample of what a beautiful and diversified country India is. THE statistics are amazing. FOR EXAMPLE: If you take 3 of their largest cities, the population would exceed Canada's. Kerela one of the smallest states in the southwest has a population of 32 million (Canada's Population) YET a land area of about 7 times that of P.E.I. (pop. 139,400). CAN YOU IMAGINE? I think PEI potatoes grow in a less crowded area.
The people, food, geography, history, language, and so on changes about every 100 miles you drive. Believe me, because that is how we toured most of the country, except for a couple of hops and jumps via plane or train. A country worthwhile considering but you must be a bit venturesom. HIRE A DRIVER AND GUIDE and RESERVE AHEAD, especially for the Game Tours in Ranthamborne Reserve near Sawai Madhopur. We stayed in 3 to 5 stars and the "Heritage Hotels" are well worth the stay.
